A great pair of peculiar denim from Maison Martin Margiela's 2004 production. The distinctive feature of this garment is the big central zip that is sewn into the placket. As opposed to traditional buttons/zippers, this closure is prominently displayed and becomes an evident center point for the piece. As with many (0) (10) pieces, the garments are originally sourced from the atelier and reworked into its desired fashion. Wear, tear, patina, repair, etc. are all tools used to create the perfect composition. This piece is in great condition, especially so when considering its age. There are small repair elements of darning on both the back and front knee of the left leg. There are interesting burnouts at the bottom of the hem that tuck behind the wearer's shoe. The wash has come out beautifully and it pairs well with the removed back pockets and tag that present in contrast in a darker denim color. This is a pair of denim that stands out in both a conceptual and functional manner.
