Beautiful pants from Helmut Lang's 1999 production. The year marks a seminal one and represents a period of great development for the artist/designer. These trousers are an easily recognizable success when it comes to Lang's body of work. Especially so when referring to the work created before Patrizio Bertelli would acquire the brand under Prada.
The body of the garment is made in a vintage cotton that has undergone natural and proportional fading over the years. A leg wrap is featured on the left upper thigh of the garment and makes for a visual distinction for the pants. Underneath the wrap are elastic straps at the knee of each leg that are tucked into the seam allowance. The silhouette of the garment is relaxed and has a wide leg providing for comfortable wear and appears to accommodate footwear in a favorable fashion.
This variation and size is quite rare. They are a real treat for those interested in the work of Helmut Lang.
Please note the condition of this garment is worn. As mentioned, there is fading throughout the garment. Additionally, there has been professional repair in the crotch area of the pants.
