HELMUT LANG S/S 1996 ADAPTED MA-1 BOMBER
Well known for drawing inspiration from military garments, Helmut Lang took on the classic MA-1 bomber to create this delightful variation. The distinctive draw for this garment is the adapted placement of the MA-1 pocket. Traditionally, this pocket would be found on the outer portion of the left sleeve. Through shifting the placement to the left chest, the garment takes on a more streamlined and modern look. It is a small move that provides considerable impact. Additionally, Lang employs the use of a mandarin collar in the same fabric as the outer shell. A different approach in comparison to the ribbed finishing that would usually decorate such bombers. This piece is rendered in a durable yet elegant polyamide that echoes its militant departure point. z45 zippers are utilized for hardware and found at the central closure, each sleeve, and the three pockets on the outer shell. The piece was produced during Helmut Lang's now famous partnership with GTR (GRUPPO TESSILE RIUNITO), hallmarking a period where the consideration of material and quality for the jeans line was arguable at an all time high.

Do note that considering the age of the garment is in great condition. However, it does show some signs of wear. There is slight yellowing around the neckline and waist that can be found on the lining.
