Helmut Lang F/W 1998 Cotton Jacket w/ Faux Shearling Lining

A gorgeous jacket from Helmut Lang's 1998 production. The garment is constructed of a luxurious cotton shell that is soft to the touch and is paired beautifully with a warm faux shearling interior. Levi's Type II Denim jackets and other westernwear designs produced by the brand appear to be of influence. This is reiterated through the combination of faux shearling and cotton as well as the  center pockets being dropped to the lower chest.  Branded silver hardware is utilized for the central closure as well as the pockets and sleeve openings. Through subtle changes, Lang forms an interesting juxtaposition between the more rugged nature of the originally referenced garments and the more elegant/softer approach that this jacket embodies. It is a successful take as it renders a piece that considers both night and day activities while remaining remarkably stylish. 

It is in incredible condition and shows almost no signs of wear.
