By 2002, Helmut Lang was in refinement of his famously modern design language. He had seminal shows under his belt and large aspirations for a brand that was now in full stride. The designer had rendered his avid fanbase, comprised of artists, executives, and everyone in between. Lang emphasized on concepts such as Power Dressing, an idea that originated in the late 1970's and 80's. Through the designer's keen eye, this notion was contextualized and interpreted to fit the need of the modern woman/man that existed in the urban landscape of city dwelling. Though seemingly simple, the garment captures complexity and sophistication through its juxtaposition of militaristic/professional elements.
This garment is constructed in the designer's well known cotton moleskin, it is rugged yet elegant to the touch. A removable collar that takes reference from military vest is decorated around an inner collar by 5 buttons around the neckline. The garment features ample storage with 3 pockets on the exterior and 2 additional pockets within the interior.
