Calvin Klein Collection (now known as Calvin Klein 205W39NYC) refers to the highest quality line that the label produced. Before the brand was sold to the Phillips Van-Heusen company in 2002, Mr. Calvin Klein himself designed both the Mens and Womenswear collections. Klein's efforts made the brand famous and evidently paved the framework for the likes of Italo Zucchelli and Raf Simons when they would each respectively helm the brand years later.
This jacket is dated to 2001 and marks the period before the PVH acquisition. The material choices and silhouette show an uncompromising vision that melds together functional elegance through a minimal perspective. It is a piece that harkens to the zeitgeist of the New York based clientele of the late 90s to early 2000's.
The piece is Italian produced and constructed in beautiful calf leather. The grain of the material is clearly seen throughout the jacket and makes for rewarding detail. Gunmetal hardware is used for the front zipper, two exterior pockets, and each sleeve opening. Two interior pockets are included alongside a soft lining that makes for a comfortable wear. The silhouette is boxy yet considerate of a modern look, the result is a sophisticated and relaxed appearance.
*Note that the jacket is in great condition. However, the zipper tab on the right sleeve is missing. It does not harm/effect the functionality of the zipper.
