Great jacket from Helmut Lang's 1999 production. This version is based on the Levi's Type II and features similar characteristics such as 2 front pockets with button flap closures and a boxy silhouette. Lang modernized the garment by focusing on the necessities. It is clear that the details present are there for a reason and do not seem extraneous in any way. This piece is meant to be worn and is built in rugged fashion, while simultaneously showcasing its consideration as a fashionable staple. 5 metal buttons make up the central closure and there are 2 buttons on the opening of the sleeves. The fade/wash of the garment is beautiful and undulates between both dark and light coloration. As is common with Helmut Lang denim, the piece has undergone unique processing to create the desired effect and look.
